Stock market live updates today: DBS Bank India waives prepayment and foreclosure charges for registered Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises

DBS Bank India Ltd (DBIL) has waived prepayment and foreclosure charges for all Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) borrowers registered with UDYAM, making it easier for businesses to access credit and manage cash flow. Announced on MSME Day, this move reflects the bank’s continued commitment to supporting India’s MSMEs. The waiver is effective going forward and applies to both new and existing active borrowers.

This proactive step aims to enhance borrower flexibility and aligns with regulatory guidance focused on improving transparency in lending. It also addresses a persistent challenge faced by many MSMEs — where foreclosure charges have often deterred early repayment or refinancing, restricting their ability to optimise cash flow management.

Commenting on the development, Sudarshan Chari, Managing Director, and Head – SME Banking, DBS Bank India, said, “Access to flexible and affordable credit remains a critical need for micro, small and medium enterprises. By waiving prepayment and foreclosure charges, we are addressing a common challenge that often limits financial agility. This change enables businesses to repay loans early without penalty and reallocate funds towards immediate priorities or critical areas like inventory, technology, and expansion. It aligns with our broader efforts to support MSMEs with need-based solutions that strengthen their resilience and unlock long-term growth.”

Share market live today: Kinara Capital MSME insights reveal strong optimism

Kinara Capital, a leading fintech driving MSME financial inclusion, today released its fourth edition of MSME Insights, signaling strong optimism and increased formalization in the MSME sector. MSME entrepreneurs are confident about their near-term business growth prospects. According to the latest MSME Insights, 81% of the surveyed MSMEs expect their business revenue to increase within the next 1-2 years. Of these, 34% anticipate a revenue growth of more than 15% in their businesses. Additionally, MSMEs are embracing formalization, with 51.7% of the surveyed reporting that they are now GST-registered.

The fourth edition of MSME Insights is based on an extensive multilingual survey of 9,314 MSMEs from Manufacturing, Trading, and Services sectors conducted across Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and the Union Territory of Puducherry.

The MSME Insights is a comprehensive data analysis of current trends of micro-small-medium enterprises (MSMEs) based on firsthand input from business owners. MSME Insights also delved into the behavioral patterns within the MSME sector and the analysis uncovered a striking pattern across all sectors. MSMEs still depend significantly on cash transactions, even when not accounting for UPI usage. Over 84.3% of the surveyed MSMEs stated that between 25%-100% of their business transactions are conducted with actual cash—underscoring the need for deeper digitization efforts across the sector.

Sharing her perspective, Hardika Shah, Founder & CEO, Kinara Capital, said,

“On the occasion of World MSME Day, it is encouraging to witness the strong optimism shared by India’s MSMEs. The fact that 81% of respondents in our recent MSME Insights survey expressed confidence in their growth prospects speaks volumes about the sector’s resilience and ambition. This optimism is rooted in improved access to formal credit, which enables entrepreneurs to focus on expansion. However, the sector’s continued reliance on cash transactions highlights the need to accelerate digitization. Embracing digital payments can enhance financial transparency and significantly boost access to formal credit. Ultimately, digitization holds the key to reaching underserved MSMEs and closing India’s ₹30 lakh crore credit gap.”

KEY FINDINGS FROM KINARA CAPITAL’S MSME INSIGHTS, FOURTH EDITION

    ● MSMEs are upbeat about their business growth : More than 81% of the respondents have indicated that they are expecting varying degrees of growth in their revenue. Of these, 47% of the respondents expect their revenue to witness a 5%-15% growth, 26.1% anticipate a growth of 15%-25% and 7.9% are optimistic of more than 25% growth in revenue. Only a small proportion, i.e., 1.1% foresee no growth.

●Cash is King for MSMEs : Overall, 84.3% of the surveyed MSMEs reported relying on cash (excluding UPI) for 25%-to-100% of their business transactions. While only 7.4% of the MSME respondents relied on cash for more than 75% of their business transactions, 30.5% depended on cash for 50%-to-75% of their business transactions. This outcome indicates that a shift to digital payments, though underway, is far from reaching its full potential.

●Formalization is on an Upswing : MSMEs are increasingly recognizing the benefits of Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance. According to the survey, 51.7% of respondents are GST-registered and file returns regularly. Of these, 29.4% expressed interest in GST-linked loan products that offer better interest rates or flexible tenures. Regular GST filings not only reflect consistent business activity but also provide a verifiable financial history that enhances credit eligibility. Additionally, GST registration reduces the overall tax burden through input tax credits and offers MSMEs the ease of doing business across state lines with a unified tax structure.

SBI General Insurance, one of India’s leading general insurance providers, has partnered with Starfin India, a subsidiary of BLS E-Services, to introduce an innovative Hospital Daily Cash Benefit Plan for low-income families.

Our collaboration with Starfin India is timely due to IRDAI’s objective of ensuring timely settlement of genuine claims, preventing fraud, and establishing effective grievance redressal mechanisms and also strengthening the financial resilience of underserved communities creating a meaningful impact at the time of need.”

Aksha Kamboj, Vice President, India Bullion and Jewellers Association and Executive Chairperson, Aspect Global Ventures, writes -

“Gold prices are on track for a weekly decline, weighed down by easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and optimism surrounding upcoming trade agreements, which have reduced demand for safe-haven assets. The market’s risk-on mood has kept pressure on bullion, which has traded within a narrow range this week, trending slightly lower. While continued central bank purchases, and the approaching festive season may help limit further downside, the catalysts for a near-term rally are lacking.”

Commodities market live today: Gold prices continue to decline despite weak dollar, dropping to about $3310

Renisha Chainani, Head of Research at Augmont, writes - Despite a weak dollar, gold dropped to about $3310, continuing recent losses as investors evaluated the Fed’s prospects for rate cuts.

    · As early as September or October, President Trump may name his Fed Chair nominee, most likely choosing a candidate who supports more lenient financial regulations.

    · On the data front, the US GDP was lowered to indicate a 0.5% decline in Q2, which further supported dovish forecasts. However, durable goods orders posted their largest growth in 11 years, while jobless claims dropped to a five-week low.

    Technical Triggers

    · As suggested yesterday, if gold prices hold below $3330 (~Rs 97000), they may retrace to $3275 (~Rs 96000), same trend continues. However, it may go towards $3440 (~Rs 99000) if prices continue to rise beyond $3385 (~Rs 98000).

    · Silver has achieved the target of $36.75 (around Rs 107,500) on the upside. Now prices are expected to consolidate in the range of $36(~ Rs 105,000) and $37 (~Rs 107,000).

Stock market live today: Monthly FII trends in 2025

    1.January 2025:

FIIs recorded significant outflows of ₹78,000 crore, one of the highest monthly sell-offs, driven by global factors like high US interest rates and disappointing Q2 FY25 earnings in India.

    2.February 2025:

Outflows continued at ₹23,000 crore, with heavy selling in sectors like banking, financial services, consumer goods, and automobiles. However, some FII buying was noted in telecom (₹5,600 crore, largely due to Bharti Airtel’s stake sale), IT, specialty chemicals, and textiles.

    March 2025:

FIIs turned net buyers on specific days, with a notable single-day purchase of ₹6,065.78 crore on April 15, marking the third-largest single-day buying in 2025 (after ₹11,111.25 crore on March 27 and ₹7,470.36 crore on March 21). However, early March data suggested outflows exceeding ₹20,000 crore. Overall, FIIs were net buyers of ₹31,784 crore in gross purchases against ₹20,673 crore in sales on March 27.

    April 2025:

FIIs showed renewed interest, with inflows of over $1.9 billion (≈₹15,960 crore) between April 15 and 21, and an additional ₹1,290 crore on April 22. This marked a shift after a month of heavy selling.

    May 2025:

FIIs were net buyers on specific days, e.g., ₹3,794.52 crore on May 6, but the monthly net flow data is incomplete.

    June 2025:

🔸FII activity showed mixed trends, from June 17, FIIs net bought ₹1,482.77 crore.

🔸On June 18, FIIs net bought ₹945 crore.

🔸On June 19, FIIs net bought ₹934.62 crore.

🔸On June 20, FIIs net bought ₹7,940.70 crore.

🔸On June 24, FIIs net sold ₹5,266.01 crore.

🔸On June 26, FIIs net bought ₹12,594.38 crore (provisional data).

DIIs have rewritten market dynamics in 2025, with over ₹3 lakh crore invested, driven by mutual funds and insurance companies. Their long-term approach has stabilized markets amid FII outflows

Stock market live today: Nifty Breakout: 90% market rollovers signal bullish momentum ahead

    IIFL Rollovers Action: Expiry Day | Market-wide: 90% | Nifty: 80% | Bank Nifty: 76% | Stock Futures: 91%

    3M Average Rollovers: Market-wide: 89% | Nifty: 78% | Bank Nifty: 77% | Stock Futures: 90%

🖋️After close to one and half months of consolidation, Nifty is breaking out of an expanding triangle (bullish continuation pattern). We believe this opens space for the index to move towards its previous highs (26200 levels; 25200 is a strong support now). Strength in frontline names like RELIANCE, BHARTI and banking heavyweights augurs well. The current spell of consolidation and breakout is similar to Jun’21-Jul’21 period. We expect rally extending to SMIDs as well.

🖋️ Key events: Expiry of 90-day reciprocal tariff pause by the US on July 8. US inflation and labour market data ahead of the FOMC rate decision in July and corporate earnings season.

🖋️ Positioning: FPI stock futures net long position remains steady at around $12.1bn. Hedges seems to have reduced (index futures shorts of ~$780mn vs $1.7bn last month). Retail long position in stock futures is largely in line at ~$14.4bn like last month.
