Noida Toll Bridge Co has received a show cause notice from the Income Tax Department for non-payment of tax dues worth ₹1,339 crore, excluding interest, for assessment years 2007-08 to 2014-15. Earlier, the tax department, in two separate orders, had rejected Noida Toll’s pleas for extension of stay on tax demand, asking the company to pay 20 per cent of the total outstanding demand. Shares of the company may come under pressure on Monday.
