The United Arab Emirates and Canada have signed an agreement for co-operation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
The agreement was signed between the visiting Foreign Minister of UAE, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Canadian counterpart, John Baird at the Ottawa headquarters of Canadian Parliament.
The agreement comes within the framework of enhancing cooperation between UAE and Canada in light of the significant growth and development witnessed in their bilateral relations, a statement released by UAE’s official news agency, WAM said.
The signing in ceremony was also attended by Mohammed Saif Hilal Al Shehhi, UAE ambassador to Canada, and the delegation accompanying UAE’s Foreign Minister.
Later, the Canadian Foreign Minister held a luncheon for the minister and his accompanying delegation.
