Over 150 energy-efficient companies across various sectors such as pharma, cement, and power, among others, have converged at Hyderabad for a CII event on energy efficiency, to share strategies and best practices on energy management.

KS Kasi Viswanathan, Managing Director of Seshasayee Papers and Boards Limited and Chairman of PaperTech 2016, highlighted the importance of efficient utilisation of depleting resources like energy and water.

Proactive thinking and making collective efforts is the way forward for finding innovative solutions to address ecological issues and concerns, he said. Going green will build competitiveness of the sector, he said, sharing his perspective on how Indian firms are innovating to stay competitive.

Sankar Bandyopadhyay, Executive Director (CenPEEP), NTPC, called on the need and importance to maintain and sustain performance of Power Plants. The need of the hour is to learn best practices and grow together, he said.

KN Rao, Director (Energy and Environment), ACC Cement Ltd, shared insights on how the Indian pulp and paper sector can adopt the success story adopted by the cement sector in pursuing a low carbon roadmap.
