InterContinental Hotel Group has tied up with real estate developer Omaxe to manage a newly built Holiday Inn at Chandigarh.
The company said that the hotel will add to IHG’s strong pipeline of properties of the Holiday Inn brand family, which represents nearly 85 per cent of the group’s growth plan in India.
The 150-room hotel will be part of a mixed-use development and includes commercial, retail and residential establishments.
Douglas Martell, Vice-President, Operations, South West Asia, said: “New Chandigarh is a new eco-friendly township on the periphery of Chandigarh city with great potential for both business and residential demand. It is an ideal location for Holiday Inn in New Chandigarh and we are very much looking forward to our partnership with Omaxe in bringing our much-loved brand to life there.”
There are currently 1,217 Holiday Inn hotels and resorts around the world and 245 in IHG’s global pipeline.
