Cotton prices increased on the back of delayed rains after June. Moreover, fresh demand from mills in the North supported the uptrend. Kapas or raw cotton also traded higher as demand for seeds was high. Gujarat Sankar-6 cotton was up ₹100 to ₹34,000-35,200 per candy of 356 kg. About 2,000 bales (of 170 kg) arrived in Gujarat and 5,000 bales arrived in India. Kapas gained ₹5 to ₹900-935 per 20 kg and gin delivery kapas stood at ₹940-955. Cottonseed was traded up ₹5 to ₹440-460.
