Hong Kong-based carrier Cathay Pacific today launched a mobile app for its Indian customers to help them make bookings, check-in at the airports and track loyalty programme benefits.

Mobile users can now book their travel on Cathay Pacific directly from their devices (smart phones and tablets) through the app, the airline said in a release.

In India for 65 years now, Cathay Pacific operates passenger flight services to Hong Kong from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad.

Besides, it also operates scheduled freighter services from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata.

“The mobile app enhancement is a welcome step for our Indian travellers, who are keen on keeping abreast with the latest technological advancements and innovations,” Rajesh Menon, the airline’s Regional Sales and Marketing Manager for South Asia, said.

With the growing demand for mobile apps, Cathay Pacific is confident that efforts like these will benefit its frequent flyers and other Indian passengers as they make travel plans on the move, he said.

“It is an important step that will not only enhance convenience but also the overall mobile experience for our Indian passengers,” he said.

The booking app is an addition to many of the existing features including check-in, viewing of seat maps, baggage allowance, available miles and other frequent flyer benefits.

It will enable passengers to plan and manage their flights better when travelling out of India, the release said.
