Google has created a doodle in memory of one of the greatest classics - Moby Dick.
Google’s doodle on Herman Melville's novel marks the 161st anniversary of its publication.
The doodle shows the scene in Moby Dick where Captain Ahab goes on a boat to take on a whale.
Hovering on the doodle displays ‘161st anniversary of Moby Dick’. Clicking on the doodle leads to a search on ‘Herman Meville’.
Unfortunately, Moby Dick was not popular during Herman Meville’s lifetime.
According to Wikipedia, “The story tells the adventures of wandering sailor Ishmael, and his voyage on the whaleship Pequod, commanded by Captain Ahab. Ishmael soon learns that Ahab has one purpose on this voyage: to seek out Moby Dick, a ferocious, enigmatic white sperm whale. In a previous encounter, the whale destroyed Ahab's boat and bit off his leg, which now drives Ahab to take revenge".
