L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd clocked approximately 1.5 lakh passengers on Tuesday, a record in passenger movement for the company.

Passengers are also shifting from token usage to smart cards substantially. Percentage of smart card usage has gone up to 50 per cent and the total number of smart cards sold till date is 2.75 lakh.

Increased ridership has been attributed to the last- and first-mile connectivity initiatives and improved parking facility at various metro stations.

New line
