Italy will participate as a partner country in the upcoming Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) for the second year in a row.
A delegation of over 30 companies from Italy, mostly from transport, infrastructure, metals and leather sectors, will be present at the two-day annual investment summit to be held on January 16 and 17.
Italian delegation The delegation, headed by Italian Ambassador to India Lorenzo Angeloni, will open the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, said a press statement.
The delegation will be guided by ArtValley, an organisation that hosts projects and international forums for the promotion of specific cultural and geopolitical initiatives.
Joint Ventures Italy’s participation in BGBS last year helped establish two joint ventures between Italian and local companies in rail and IT sectors, Damiano Francovigh, Italian Consul General, said in the release.
Another Italian company, currently operating in the State, has decided to renovate and expand its offices located in Kolkata.
“We hope that more results will be achieved after this year’s participation. An MoU will be signed in the leather sector, for new technologies and training programmes,” he said.
