The Union Government has agreed to give 15 acres in Mysuru to the Karnataka Government.

The Urban Development Minister, Venkaiah Naidu, informed this to the Karnataka Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, when he called on him today.

The Urban Development Ministry has agreed to the State Government's request for providing 15 acres of surplus land available with the Government of India Text Book Press at Mysuru for the construction of Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex.

Venkaiah Naidu handed over a copy of the order issued in this regard to the Chief Minister. Siddaramaiah thanked him for his support in this regard.

In a separate meeting, the Karnataka Chief Minister sought continued support to the schemes that were launched under the erstwhile Jawaharlal Nehru Renewal Mission.

Venkaiah Naidu explained that the schemes, which were sanctioned during 2005-12 and had reported progress of more than 50 per cent, would continue to get central support.

Schemes, which were sanctioned during 2012-14 and were given first instalment, would be supported till 2017 and the remaining need to be submitted again under the new AMRUT and States are given the liberty of prioritising and sanctioning them.
