Nissan India has said it is gearing for the launch of its new sport utility vehicle Kicks on January 22 and it has started despatching the SUV to the dealerships from its plant in Chennai on Friday.

Deliveries to customers will commence after the formal launch. Kicks will come in both petrol and diesel variants.

Customers can test drive the new Nissan Kicks at all Nissan dealerships. The company started the bookings for new Nissan Kicks in December 2018 and since then, it has received an ‘overwhelming’ response, it said in a statement, but didn’t disclose the number of bookings.

Bookings can be done by paying an amount of ₹25,000 on the company’s website www.nissan.in

Out of the bookings made in January 2019, 500 customers who purchase Nissan Kicks will get a chance to watch the ICC Cricket World Cup in England.

Nissan at present sells its SUV Terrano and a multipurpose vehicle Datsun GO+ in the Indian market. The company had launched its new Datsun GO and Datsun GO+ cars in October as part of its renewed strategy.

The Japanese auto major has devised a new strategy for the Indian market and has planned a slew of new products under Nissan and Datsun brands and expansion of its dealership network, among others·

It will double its sales and service touch points and strengthen the dealership network in the next three years, from 270 today.
