The Bordeaux International Wine Institute (BIWI), part of the France-based INSEEC group, recently launched an MBA programme in Spirits Marketing & Management.

The first batch of the programme will start in October 2014 (October-January) at the institute’s Bordeaux campus and the rest of the programme (until March) will be conducted at the INSEEC campus in London.

The MBA relies primarily on courses in brand strategy, international negotiation, laws and regulations, and on communication and online studies. The programme will offer its students the possibility of becoming specialists in the spirits industry.

During the course, students will also be initiated into tasting, as also production methods for different spirits.

high potential

“The spirits sector has huge potential,” said Laurent Bergeruc, Director of the MSc and the MBA programmes at INSEEC Bordeaux, in a press statement while announcing the launch of the new MBA programme.

“The worldwide turnover of the spirits industry is more than $300 billion, almost double that of the wine industry.” “This new course is designed to meet the specific expectations of the sector and will be taught entirely in English by industry professionals.”

BIWI hosted more than 300 students from 20 different nationalities in 2013-14 for programmes related to wine marketing.
