In a bid to enhance its operations across the country, IndiGo is to launch 16 new flights effective today. IndiGo is to introduce operations on the Chennai-Guwahati route with its first non-stop flight, and also connect Bengaluru to Chennai, Bengaluru to Guwahati and Delhi to Raipur with new flights, on the same day.
On April 9, the airline will enhance operations between Delhi and Bengaluru and Delhi and Ahmedabad with additional frequencies. Furthermore, from April 12, it will commence operations with its first flight on the Chennai-Jaipur route as well as Chennai-Lucknow (via Bengaluru) route. It will also begin new flights on the Bengaluru-Lucknow and Bengaluru-Chennai routes.
With 737 flights connecting 40 destinations across the globe, these new flights are aimed at consolidating IndiGo’s position as the fastest growing airline in India, said a statement from the company.
Aditya Ghosh, President, IndiGo, said that the launch resonates with the airline’s expansion plans, and the month-on-month growth the airline has seen in the domestic sector.
