Expanding its prime benefits to customers, Amazon.in on Friday said it has launched two of its global programmes, Amazon Family & Baby Wish List in India.
Amazon Prime, which was launched in 2016 in India, offers several benefits to members which includes shipping, shopping and streaming (Amazon Prime Video) benefits at a discounted price of ₹499 per year.
With the Amazon Family programme, Prime members will be able to save 15 per cent on diaper subscriptions from their favourite brands. The program offers discount benefits to Prime members, who will be able to get exclusive discount coupons across daily household, baby, toys, personal care products and grocery products. Customers will also will get personalised recommendations based on the child’s age.
Saurabh Srivastava, Director, Category Management, Amazon India, said: “We are constantly trying to improve our shopping experience and work backwards from customer needs. With the launch of Amazon Family and Baby Wish List, we want to cater to the new and expecting parents.
“Customers are going to be delighted by the convenience and ease of access to such a vast selection of baby products, apart from the hassle free shopping experience. We have curated the store with the best products across well-known brands to help expand selection for customers.”
Srivastava told BusinessLine that the FMCG category has grown 150 per cent during Jan-March this year on a year-on- year basis. “It is the fastest growing category for amazon.in,” he said. He said the number of sellers totalling about 9,000 plus is the largest any e-commerce player has. “We have the largest number of products than anyone else,” he pointed out.
The Baby Wish List program, open to all Amazon.in customers, helps expecting and new parents create a list of items they will need for their baby as the baby grows. The Baby Wish List store has curated and recommended checklists and buying guides that could be used by the new parents to make an informed decision on the required products for their little one. Parents can create lists from products across all relevant categories such as baby care, toys, strollers, cribs baby apparel, maternity wear among others.
In addition to convenience, Baby Wish List program also gives savings where a customer can avail 10 per cent Amazon Pay balance cashback if they shop for products above ₹5,000 from their Baby Wish List. Prime members get additional benefit of 15 per cent cash-back when they shop above ₹5,000 from Baby Wish List.
