Treebo, a Benguluru-based tech-enabled chain of hotels, has expanded its operation to Pune and Kolkata, increasing its presence to 52 hotels across 11 cities.
The startup will initially launch one property each in these cities. With Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad already covered, the company has now established presence in all major metros in India, the company said in a statement.
“Expanding into Pune and Kolkata is a significant milestone for us as these are important travel destinations for both business and leisure traveller. They will also act as hubs for us to extend our presence to the tier II and III cities in the western and eastern regions of the country," said Sidharth Gupta, co-founder at Treebo.
The company plans to expand in new territories reaching a network of 10,000 rooms in 20 cities by the end of 2016. The company launched its operations in June 2015 and later thereafter raised $6 million in Series A funding from SAIF Partners and Matrix Partners.
