Farm-based web portal eFresh today signed an agreement with IKP Centre for Advancement in Agricultural Practices to expand its portfolio of offerings.

The web portal offers information, live tenders and market linkages covering the entire spectrum of the supply chain from the farmers to the consumers.

Srihari Kotela, Managing Director, said the company also launched its live tenders portal, which will provide farmers, traders, exporters and importers live tenders on agri-products from different government organisations, farmers bodies and corporations. “We will initially put up at least 40 to 50 live tenders every day on the portal,” he told media persons here.

The partnership between the portal and ICAAP will seek to scale up some of its projects, such as the farmers development centres, to the national level.

eFresh is currently putting up five such centres in Andhra Pradesh, the first almost ready in Guntur. These centres showcase latest farm technologies and enable farmers to strike business-t-business deals. “We will try and scale up this project at the national level. We will also support the portal with our expertise in good agriculture practices, including soil testing,” Abdul Rahman Ilyas, CEO of the centre, said.

Srihari said for the next two months, the portal would have free access by the stakeholders. Later, the company would restrict it to subscribers, with its chief revenue stream being advertisements. Its potential subscribers would be farmers clubs, primary agricultural cooperative societies, manufacturers, NGOs, service providers and exporters/importers of farm products.
