The Karnataka Government has allotted 4,290 acres to the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) for an aeronautical test range project at Chitradurga district, the DRDO said here today.
The Chief Minister, Mr B S Yeddyurappa, has officially handed over land documents to ADE yesterday, a DRDO statement said. The objective of the Rs 1,300-crore project is to build necessary infrastructure for testing and evaluating unmanned and manned aircraft being undertaken by aeronautic cluster labs in DRDO, it said.
The project has been planned and conceived by ADE, Bangalore, in collaboration with other DRDO labs.
