Micron Technology Inc, a semiconductor products company, will invest over ₹300 crore to set up a 1.8 lakh sq ft facility at Madhapur here. The US-based storage solutions company, with a market cap of $51 billion, will lease space in a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) that will house about 1,000 employees in the next few years. “This will be Micron’s largest presence in India,” a Telangana government statement said on Monday. Micron’s Senior Director (Asia Legal) Stephen Drake; and Director, Singapore Legal, Amrinder Sidhu, met the Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao, and IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, to discuss their plans. “Micron will also be working with the TASK (Telangana Academy for Skills and Knowledge) for their recruitment needs, besides working with tech incubators T-Hub and and T-Works,” the statement said.
