Shares of Gitanjali Gems Ltd, Amtek Auto Ltd , Easun Reyrolle Ltd and Panoramic Universal Ltd fell by their maximum permissible daily limit.
According to an exchange circular, the bourses have decided to suspend trading in as many as nine companies from September 10 since they have not submitted the December and March quarter financial results as per regulations. The companies have not paid the fine amount levied for non-compliance till date.
Gitanjali Gems, controlled by jeweller Mehul Choksi who has also been accused in the Punjab National Bank fraud, fell 4.9 per cent to hit the lower circuit. Amtek Auto slipped 4.3 per cent and Panoramic Universal fell 4.2 per cent, while Easun Reyrolle shed 4.94 per cent.
