The Nifty and the Sensex ended flat on Monday after a dull session of trading. The Nifty ended 0.3 points down at 5,278.6 and the Sensex was down 31 points at 17,398.98.
All the indices closed flat, either in the red or in the green. CNX Media and CNX Realty were the only two significant gainers adding 1.09 per cent and 2.27 per cent over Friday’s close, respectively.
Volatility was down 0.37 per cent and the India Vix closed at 19.01.
ACC, DLF, Grasim, HDFC Bank and Bharti Airtel were the top Nifty gainers, while ITC, Jindal Steel, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Motors and HUL were the top losers.
