After prolonged teasers on media, Kalyan Jewellers launched its biggest showroom in Chennai with much fanfare on Friday.
It managed to create a hype among the public for the event, and as expected drew a huge crowd. Film stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Prabhu, Nagarjuna and Shiva Rajkumar were present at the event.
The retailer has invested close to ₹200 crore in the flagship store in the jewellery retail hub T Nagar. This is also the largest investment by any jeweller in a single showroom across the country, says a release from the company. The flagship showroom, spread across 40,000 sq ft, will display 600 kg of jewellery in over five lakh designs at any given point in time. Customers can also access a private lounge through prior appointment for an exclusive experience. A designated children’s play area has been created inside the showroom to offer a comfortable shopping environment for families.
It will open four more showrooms, measuring 15,000 sq ft each, in Chromepet, Adyar, Velacherry and Anna Nagar, of which two will be launched during the course of this financial year and two in the early part of next year. A total of ₹300 crore will be invested in these four showrooms.
