Savoy Hotel, Ooty, belonging to Taj Hotels, Resorts & Palaces, has been awarded the Best Heritage Grand Property at the National Tourism Awards 2011-12.
The award, which is instituted by the Ministry of Tourism, is acknowledged as the standard bearer of outstanding achievements and recognition of tourism industry stakeholders in the country.
Savoy Hotel sprawls over six acres of landscaped gardens, offering colonial style cottages that were built between 1834 and 1865.
Eco-friendly measures
The hotel has been conferred with the Best Heritage Grand Property award this year for its eco-friendly measures and social responsibility practices, says a company press release.
