With more employers routinely doing background checks, a report by First Advantage which analysed discrepancies thrown up by such screenings shows almost 65 per cent of hires at the Associate level had inconsistencies in actual and claimed statements on their CVs. Middle management discrepancies were at 18 per cent, tailing off to 2 per cent at senior levels. Discrepancies relating to previous employment were the highest at 55.7 per cent.
