The ongoing agitation in Andhra Pradesh has so far not had any major impact on the company operations.”

The overall performance was boosted by the automotive and industrial battery business which reported double digit growth in revenues. The automotive battery segment was aided by strong volume expansion both in four-wheelers and two-wheelers batteries in the replacement market.

The expansion of two-wheeler batteries has seen some delay and is expected to be ready by January 2014. The enhanced capacity will enable the company supply to OEMs and also growth the aftermarket.

The Greenfield project for four-wheelers is expected to be commissioned in the second quarter of next fiscal.

The company’s share ended at Rs 315.30, up 1.11 per cent at BSE today.
