Rajkot-based Excel Castronics Ltd (formerly known as Ahmedabad Gases Ltd) reported net profit of Rs 29.21 lakh for the second quarter ended September 30 against Rs 0.13 lakh in the same period last year.
The company that deals in castor seeds products has posted total income of Rs 9.76 crore for the quarter under review against Rs 0.73 lakh in the same quarter previous year, a company statement said.
For the first half of the fiscal, company's net profit stood at Rs 21 lakh against the net loss of Rs 10 lakh in the corresponding period last year. Total income for the period increased to Rs 16.75 crore aganst Rs 48 lakh in the same period last year. "The turnaround in the financial performance of the company came after it was taken over by Rajkot-based conglomerate Sampati Group," the statement said.
Excel Castronincs shares jumped by 5 per cent at Rs 39.95 on the BSE on Friday.
