Emergency response service provider GVK Emergency Management Research Institute (EMRI) has bagged the SKOCH award in the health category.
It was conferred the platinum award for corporate excellence and outstanding contribution to the cause of nation-building at the 34th SKOCH Summit in New Delhi.
K. Krishnam Raju, Director, GVK EMRI, received the award from Union Minister for Finance P. Chidambaram and Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Montek Singh Ahluwalia.
Chidambaram and Montek Singh Ahluwalia appreciated the services provided by GVK EMRI in 14 States and 2 Union Territories, catering to over 700 million people. It operates with over 6,000 ambulances and over 25,000 staff.
Raju in a statement said, “GVK EMRI takes 108 services across every corner of India and continues with the noble mission of saving lives”.
Operating as a non-profit organisation based on the public-private partnership model, it provides emergency response services. Through the toll-free emergency response number, '108,' it caters to all kinds of emergencies, medical crisis, law and order situations and fire disasters.
