NCC Urban, a subsidiary of diversified construction group NCC Ltd, has tied up with Dubai-based flooring and roofing firm Avant to launch its products in India.
Avant, which has a presence in 16 countries, will be bringing in products from its manufacturing facility in China and seek to carve out a new segment in the domestic flooring and roofing market.
Its products provide an alternative to wood flooring and are made of composite material. Its roofing products use carbon fibre composite material, using German technology.
Order Book
The flooring products are priced at Rs 360 per sq ft, as against wood flooring that have a price tag ranging between Rs 100 and Rs 700 per sq ft. N.R. Alluri, Managing Director of NCC Urban, said the company would not only use Avant products for its own construction projects, but would also market them with other property developers across the country.
The construction firm has a current order book of Rs 19,300 crore, out of which 30 per cent comes from the building and housing sector. It is also engaged in power, roads and irrigation projects.
“We have a land bank of about 300 acres across States, which we want to take up for development of residential and commercial complexes in a phased manner,” Alluri said.
Andrew Hughes, Director (Marketing) of Avant, said his company would bring in interior cladding and exterior roof sheeting products into India at a later stage.
