Power Grid Corporation of India said on Monday that the company’s board of directors have agreed to invest ₹2,247.37 crore for the Green Energy Corridors: Inter-State Transmission Scheme – Part C. The project has a commissioning schedule of 36 months from the date of the investment approval, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The company had started developing Green Energy Corridors for the evacuation of power generated from renewable energy sources in 2012. The investment approval accorded by the board on Monday is part of the same project. The Green Energy Corridor project includes both intra-State and inter-State transmission projects.
