The Indian drugs regulator is confident about the medicines produced by Ranbaxy that are in circulation in the domestic market.
Drugs Controller General of India G.N. Singh said, “Whatever medicines are placed in the Indian market are safe. Otherwise, they would have been withdrawn.”
He emphasised that this applies not only to medicines manufactured by Ranbaxy but all the drugs being sold in India.
Ranbaxy is in the eye of the storm again after the US Food and Drugs Administration expressed concern over the safety of the drug-major’s medicines on Wednesday and alleged that hair and oil particles were found in samples.
