A high-level Russian delegation led by Mikhail A. Pogosyan, President, United Aircraft Corporation, visited HAL's aircraft manufacturing and overhaul divisions at Nasik.
“The delegation saw first-hand the manufacturing and overhaul facilities created for the Su (Sukhoi) 30 MKI at Nasik,” said Dr R K Tyagi, Chairman, HAL.
The 4.5 generation aircraft, the main strike force of the Indian Air Force, is manufactured at five divisions of HAL Nasik, Koraput (Odisha), Lucknow, Hyderabad and Korwa (UP).
The team included representatives of various Russian agencies and companies such as Rosoboronexport, Irkut Corporation, RAC-MIG and Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant.
Pogosyan expressed confidence that Russian and Indian specialists would together achieve the set tasks on various manufacturing programmes.
