Toyota Kirloskar Workers Union has said it will take a decision on its future course of action on Saturday after the company decided to lift a lockout of its two factories at Bidadi near here from March 24.
But a union member said most workers were against giving a written undertaking about their good conduct as sought by the management because they felt it would be tantamount to admitting their involvement in acts of indiscipline.
The company declared lockout on March 16, following the failure of talks between the management and the union over wage hike.
The member also said the union will not back off from its demand for revocation of suspension of workers. On Friday, the management suspended 14 more, taking the total number to 31.
Toyota Kirloskar Vice-Chairman Shekar Viswanathan said the management will not revoke the suspension. “We will set up an inquiry committee and based on its report, we will take appropriate steps,” he said.
