The Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday released the “less cash campaign’ road map of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT).

The nationwide campaign will, in the next 40 days, seek to promote usage of digital payments across the country. Also, August 15 will be observed as ‘Less Cash Day’ all over the country, said a CAIT release.

Releasing the ‘less cash’ roadmap of CAIT, Jaitley stressed the need to eradicate the shadow economy and felt that more usage of digital payments will improve gross domestic product (GDP) growth

Stating that black money was a curse for the economy, Jaitley called upon people to avail the Union Government’s scheme on income disclosure.

CAIT intends to distribute copies of ‘less cash roadmap’ to the Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, Finance Ministers of all States, senior officials of Union and State Governments, leaders of all political parties and Members of Parliament from both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
