Singapore-based budget carrier Tigerair is set to add two more flights to India — taking the count of flights to 46 per week — as the passenger base travelling to and fro increases.
Currently, the carrier operates weekly flights to six Indian destinations — Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Lucknow, Kochi and Tiruchirappalli — and is evaluating new destinations. It further strengthens its base in India with one seasonal additional frequency each to Hyderabad and Tiruchirappalli.
This move is part of Tigerair’s growth strategy in the India market.
From April 25 to June 15, 2016, the airline will increase the flight frequency on its Hyderabad-Singapore route, taking the total count to seven weekly flights, while the Tiruchirappalli-Singapore route will have a total of 14 weekly flights.
Tigerair announced a return fare to Singapore starting from ₹11,599. Passengers travelling from Hyderabad can avail of this offer by booking tickets on www.tigerair.com from January 20 to 31, for travel from March 9 to April 16.
Addressing a press conference, Teh Yik Chuan, director, sales and marketing, Tigerair Singapore said, “Tigerair has always viewed India as an extremely significant part of our global network as we realise the potential and opportunities the market has to offer. The special fares will further benefit our travellers from India to visit Singapore.”
Bridget Goh, area director, India and Sri Lanka, Singapore Tourism Board said, “Last year, Singapore celebrated its Golden Jubilee and one of the key collaborations was the partnership between Tigerair and STB for a successful marketing campaign targeted at Indian travellers.”
