The Finance Ministry has extended by one year the validity of existing anti-dumping duty on Para Nitro Aniline (PNA) imports from China.
The anti-dumping duty on PNA imports from China will now be valid up to September 8 next year, the revenue department said. It was earlier to lapse on September 8, 2016.
PNA is an organic chemical and used as an intermediate in the synthesis of dyes, antioxidants, pharmaceuticals and gasoline, in gum inhibitors, poultry medicines and as a corrosion inhibitor.
The revenue department move follows the Designated Authority in the commerce ministry initiating sunset review investigations on PNA imports from China.
Abhilasha Tex-Chem Ltd and Amarjyot Chemicals Pvt Ltd had filed the petition seeking sunset review investigation of anti-dumping duty imposed on PNA imports from China.
