Global Indian Music Academy, New Delhi, is presenting GIMA Award 2011 to Dr M. Balamuralikrishna, Carnatic music maestro from Andhra Pradesh, at a function in New Delhi on Thursday, according to Dr S. Vijaya Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of Vijay Nirman Company Private Ltd. He said at a press meet here on Tuesday that Dr Balamuralikrishna was the President of the company's corporate social responsibility wing and also its brand ambassador. “Our CSR activities encompass the great world of Indian arts apart from education, health and environment. We are spending roughly Rs 1.2 crore on CSR activities. We are very proud that Dr Balamurali, the great maestro and our brand ambassador, has been chosen for the prestigious award this year,” he said. Last year, the award was given to Pandit Ravi Shankar and Lata Mangeshkar. —
