Sugar prices ruled flat on the Vashi wholesale market on Tuesday as supplies continued to be ample. Producers kept their tender offer open to ease their inventory. Despite higher offtake by retailers, the demand-supply equation remained at a par. Arrivals continued to be at 62-63 truckloads, while local dispatches were at 59-60 loads. On Monday evening, 24-25 mills offered tenders and sold 70,000-72,000 bags at ₹2,560-2,660 (₹2,560-2,660) for S-grade and ₹2,660-2,780 (₹2,660-2,780) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,700-91 (₹2,700-2,800) and M-grade ₹2,812-2,952 (₹2,812-2,952). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,630-2,700 (₹2,630-2,700) and M-grade ₹2,740-2,870 (₹2,740-2,870).
