Weak arrival and strong buying support in the physical market lifted mustard oil with prices in Indore on Thursday rising to ₹646 (₹642).
Similarly, it rose to ₹650 in Morena (up ₹5) and ₹640 in Neemuch (up ₹5). In Rajasthan mandis also mustard oil ruled higher with demands outstripping arrivals.
In Kota and Ganga Nagar mustard oil ruled at ₹640 each (up ₹10).
Similarly, it gained ₹5 in Jaipur at ₹650 and ₹10 higher in Gujarat where mustard oil on Thursday ruled at ₹630. Besides improved physical demand, bullish trend in mustard oil has been aided by uptrend in soya oil on weak arrival and pre-marriage season demand. Plant deliveries also rose to ₹3,415-20 (₹3,365-70 a quintal last week) on improved demand from crushers.
Mustard seeds were being quoted at ₹4000-4,100 (₹3,900-4,050). Similarly, raida also gained ₹100 to ₹2,900-3,000 a quintal.
Total arrival of new mustardseeds in the country on Thursday declined to 3.20 lakh bags (5.50 lakh bags last week).
