Cotton price marginally declined as demand from domestic mills was slow. Moreover, weak foreign market also led to the price fall. Kapas or raw cotton was down on decline in ginning demand. Arrival too decreased as farmers held back their produce expecting good price for their commodity. Gujarat Sankar-6 cotton was down ₹100 to ₹35,000-500 per candy of 356 kg. About 10,000-11,000 bales of 170 kg arrived in Gujarat against 16,000 bales a week ago, while at all-India level the arrival stood at 25,000 bales – down nearly 5,000 bales. Kapas moved down ₹5 to ₹945-950 for a maund of 20 kg and gin delivery kapas was ₹965-970. Cottonseed was unchanged at ₹440-445.
