Castorseed futures and spot prices increased a tad on the back of fresh export demand. The gain was limited as arrivals improved. Experts said that prices moved up in the futures market due to speculative buying at lower level by the market participants. Spot prices gained as there was some fresh demand for castor oil. On the NCDEX, castorseed March contract gained ₹12 at ₹3,648 a quintal with an open interest of 95,720 lots. On the Rajkot Commodity Exchange, March series was up by ₹18 to ₹3,645 and RCX spot castorseed gained ₹22.50 to ₹3,462.50. About 40,000-42,000 bags of castorseed arrived in Gujarat and prices quoted at ₹680-690 for a maund of 20 kg. In Saurashtra, about 1,400-1,500 bags arrived and went for ₹675-685. Castor oil was up ₹5 to ₹710/10 kg.
