Jeera price moved up on the back of good domestic as well as overseas demand.
Futures also traded up on strong spot fundaments. Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists amid rising export demand mainly pushed up jeera prices at the market. Moreover, fear of damage due to unseasonal rain supported the price to go up.
In Unjha mandi, jeera gained ₹25 to ₹2,800-3,200 for a maund of 20 kg and arrivals stood at 50,000 bags. On the NCDEX, April contract moved up by ₹95 to ₹14,605 a quintal with an open interest of 15,612 lots.
