A rise in arrival of new domestic and imported crops pounded chana prices in Indore mandis over the past week by ₹1,000 a quintal. Chana (kanta) today crashed to ₹5,100-₹5,200 a quintal, while chana (desi) declined to ₹4,800 (down ₹1,200 from last week). Adequate availability of imported chana from Australia will continue in the coming days and the price of the produce may decline below ₹5,000 a quintal in the coming days, Prakash Vora, a local wholesale chana trader in Indore, told BusinessLine .
