Sluggish demand and reports of better crop output have arrested uptrend both in mustard oil and mustard seeds. Mustard oil in Indore mandis declined to ₹687/10 kg (₹696). Similarly in Neemuch and Morena also mustard oil declined by ₹10 each at ₹680 and ₹695 respectively. With recent rains and cold wave promising to be quiet beneficial to the standing crop of mustard, trading sentiment has changed with stockists releasing their produce in leading to sharp decline in prices of both mustard oil and seeds in the past one week, said Kailash Agrawal, a local mustard seeds broker.
Mustard seed was being quoted at ₹4,100-4,200 a quintal, while raida ruled at ₹3,500. Plant deliveries were at ₹4,050-55.
