Kalaunji and methiseed prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital on Sturday on subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.
Increased arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the select spice prices.
Kalaunji and methiseed prices fell by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 6,900-7,900 and Rs 3,400-4,400 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down Kalaunji and methiseed prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
The following are today’s quotations: Ajwain 10,000-15,000, black pepper (per kg) 390-515, betel nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 800-900 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 950-1,050.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 720-860, cardamom (colour robin) 710-850, cardamom bold 720-810, cardamom extra (bold) 910-1,040 and cloves (kg) 600-770.
