Sugar prices on the Vashi wholesale market were mixed with S-grade declining by ₹9-20 a quintal and M-grade rising by ₹5-14. Naka prices also showed a similar trend with S-grade rising on the lower side by ₹70 and M-grade declining by ₹40. Mill tender prices were steady. Activities remained routine in absence of bulk demand. Arrivals were at 60-61 truckloads and local dispatches declined to 59-60 loads. On Tuesday, about 21-22 mills offered tenders and sold about 35,000-40,000 bags at a steady level of ₹2,390-2,550 for S-grade and ₹2,520-2,660 for M-grade. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,550-2,682 (2,572-2,691) and M-grade ₹2,680-2,882 (2,666-2,881). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,500-2,570 (2,430-2,570) and M-grade ₹2,610-2,750 (2,650-2,750).
