Spot pepper prices ruled steady on Friday as demand matched supply. On the spot, 22 tonnes of pepper arrived. Of this, 10 tonnes – which were a mix of old and new pepper – were traded at ₹675/kg. All the active contracts on the IPSTA platform remained unchanged as there was no trading activity.
On the terminal market spot, prices stayed steady at ₹67,000 (ungarbled) and ₹70,000 (garbled) a quintal. In the international market Indian parity was at $11,600 a tonne c&f for Europe and $11,850 for the US.
