An awareness and education seminar on agribusiness and commodity price risk management will be held at 10.30 a.m on November 24 at the Amoga Hall, Hotel Nrupatunga, Station Road, Raichur .
The event is part of an ongoing initiative by The Hindu Business Line jointly with Forward Markets Commission (FMC), the commodity futures market regulator under the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, and the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), India’s largest agri-commodities futures exchange.
. The seminar intends to create awareness among market participants about the need to follow price risk management practice.Dr L.B. Hugar, Dean (Agri), University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur, will be the chief guest.
The seminar will feature expert speakers who will make presentations on a range of relevant topics. G. Chandrashekhar of The Hindu Business Line will speak on ‘Commodities as key driver of India’s economic growth’. An official from the NCDEX will explain the exchange perspective and speak on benefits of commodity futures trading and price risk management.
State Bank of Mysore is the event’s banking partner. N.V.L. Ratan, Deputy General Manager (Agriculture), SBM, will speak on the role of banks in agriculture.
There will be a Question & Answer session at the end of formal presentations.
The event is supported by Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Raichur Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Jawahar Jain, President of the Chamber, will deliver the welcome address and Trivikram Joshi, Secretary, will deliver the vote of thanks.
