Spot pepper prices continued to decline on Wednesday on bearish sentiments and selling pressure. On the terminal market, 46 tonnes arrived and they were traded. Pepper of low bulk density having high moisture content was sold at prices ranging between ₹525 and 550 a kg. Better quality material was traded at between ₹600 and ₹650. On the IPSTA platform, all the active contracts moved up by ₹1,000 a quintal. At the same time on the terminal market spot pepper prices fell by ₹1,000 to ₹65,000 (ungarbled) and ₹68,000 (garbled). Export prices were at $11,400 a tonne cf prompt shipment while February and March full shipments would be at $10,400 c&f and $9,400 a tonne cf.
