Pepper prices continued to slip on Friday despite good buying by exporters, who have made October/November/December commitments, were covering briskly even matured small berries arriving from Kollam district of Kerala. A total of 28 tonnes were traded at ₹690-700 a kg. Buyers were now quoting ₹680-690 levels and to which the sellers were hesitant, market sources told BusinessLine. No domestic demand is forthcoming, of late, as none is interested buy from the declining market, they said. On the IPSTA, all the active contracts were down by ₹1,000 a quintal each to ₹64,665, ₹59,800 and ₹60,026 respectively. Spot prices lost ₹500 to ₹68,800 (ungarbled) and ₹71,800 (garbled). Export prices were at $11,900 a tonne cf for Europe and $12,150 for the US.
