Spot pepper market on Tuesday witnessed a continuous fall on rising selling pressure. Supply from Karnataka soared as the harvesting has begun. Consequently, spot prices have notionally been reduced by ₹600 a quintal, they said. Exporters who made forward sales have covered High Range pepper at ₹570-575 a kg. On the terminal market, 55 tonnes of pepper were traded on Tuesday. On the IPSTA platform, all the active contracts ruled steady. Export prices were at around $9,900 a tonne c&f for prompt shipment while for March and April shipments they were at $9,200 and $8,750 respectively.
